Dr. Hunziker is a board certified foot and ankle surgeon through the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and a native of Iowa.  He has clinics in Waukee and Des Moines and he provides foot care to the entire Des Moines area.  He attended The University of Iowa in Iowa City where he received his undergraduate bachelor’s degree.  He then attended medical school at Des Moines University in Des Moines where he obtained his doctorate degree in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery.  Dr. Hunziker then completed a three-year surgical residency focusing on reconstructive foot and ankle surgery at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge, IA where he had extensive foot and ankle surgical training and was the chief resident during his final year.  After residency, Dr. Hunziker practiced in St. Joseph, Missouri for two years then his family decided to move back home to Iowa to be closer to family and friends. Dr. Hunziker practiced in South Des Moines for a year before deciding to start up Fusion Foot and Ankle in Waukee and Des Moines. 

Dr. Hunziker is a member of the Iowa Board of Podiatry and he is a member of the Iowa Podiatric Medical Society, American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and the American Podiatric Medical Association.

Dr. Hunziker specializes in inpatient and outpatient foot and ankle surgical and clinical management, adult and pediatric foot and ankle reconstruction, bunion surgery, heel pain, arthroscopy, toenail procedures and management, infection management, flatfoot reconstruction, forefoot deformity correction, foot and ankle fracture/trauma management, external fixation, and diabetic wound management.

In his free time Dr. Hunziker enjoys spending time with his wife and four children.  He also likes golfing, watching football, snowboarding, and walking his two dogs.
